Baltasar Ebang Engonga, Director General of Equatorial Guinea’s National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), is at the center of a significant scandal following the discovery of hundreds of compromising videos by law enforcement authorities.

The videos allegedly depict Ebang Engonga in intimate situations with multiple well-known figures, including the wife of his brother, his cousin, and the sister of the President of Equatorial Guinea. Equatorial Guinea’s Vice President, Teodoro Nguema, responded through his X (formerly Twitter) account, condemning the inappropriate activities occurring within government offices. He emphasized that romantic relationships are strictly prohibited within administrative spaces and warned of disciplinary action against anyone violating this rule.

“In light of recent abuses seen on social media in Equatorial Guinea and to reinforce that ministries are meant for administrative work to advance the country, romantic relationships in offices are prohibited,” Nguema stated. “Control measures are already in place, and anyone breaching this law will face disciplinary action, including dismissal.”
