The President-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, has confirmed that preparations are underway for his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, revealing that the Russian leader is eager to meet with him.

In a statement made yesterday while speaking to the press at his Mar-a-Lago residence, Trump refused to disclose the specific location of the upcoming talks, but emphasized that the plans were already in motion.

“Putin needs to meet with me, and we have already started making the necessary arrangements,” said Trump.

Trump, who is set to take office on January 20 this year, has been a vocal critic of the current U.S. President, Joe Biden, particularly regarding his handling of the ongoing war. Additionally, Trump has condemned the U.S. government’s decision to provide military aid and weapons to Ukraine. During his presidential campaign, Trump promised that if elected, he would work towards ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
